Each image's own file page (author, license, original size) is on Wikimedia Commons under its file name. If a card shows only an author or institution with no license abbreviation (e.g. NASA/JPL-Caltech), the license is stated on that file page. Images whose license
requires attribution but whose author is not given in machine-readable form are not added to the pool.
News images are never copied into the application package; they are loaded from their source when displayed.

App icons and interface symbols were drawn by CosmosApp.
Earlier versions of the app shipped astronomy photographs originating from ESO and NASA/ESA Hubble.
Those files were removed from the package on 2026-09-03 and are not distributed in the current
version. Should they be used again, the credit (e.g. ESO / CC BY 4.0,
NASA, ESA & Hubble) will be shown on this page and next to the image.
News summaries and translations may be produced by AI. When they are, a clear "summarized by AI" label appears above the summary panel. The same panel carries a "Report" button, so you can report wrong, misleading, offensive or infringing content from inside the app. Reports are reviewed.
